Breaking Up is Hard To Do!

Breaking up with someone you love, even someone you don’t is often almost impossible and in may cases it is without God’s help – hence hundreds of people stay perpetually joined to the wrong person or married to people they probably never should have gotten together with in the first place.

Things You Need to Do if you Are Breaking Up with Someone

  • Make sure you get rid of all things that remind you of that person (otherwise it’s really not fair on your future partner if inside you are constantly thinking and aiding your memory in remembering things you really need to forget!).
  • Talk through your hurts and feeling with someone you trust (not lots of people).
  • You must be with people if you are vulnerable. Don’t skip church!
  • Take your mind of the past by going on holiday or taking a course on something you like.
  • Start looking to make new friends – friends first  remember!
  • Consider if you have to make any changes to your behaviour that night have contributed to your split and may contribute to another one (usually we are very selfish and need to learn to share ourselves and not insist on having everything we want or our own way – this is a modern disease).
  • Change anything you need to change about yourself BEFORE you start dating again!
  • Do some thing s you always wanted to do but never got round to!
  • Do some things that will practically help others and you will be amazed at the reward you have in terns or self-worth. Good works are not an option but a command.
  • Always praise God for what you’ve got – not what you haven’t got (this is hard and takes practice but it will change you!).
  • Be prepared to look back and thank God for a split that may presently may feel like you made the wrong decison!
  • Once you have made your decision do not dwell on the past – onwards and upwards!

Optional Things you Might Consider after a Break Up

  • Get a new look!
  • Make some new friends by widening your social circle (preferably offline!)
  • Make time for your family and close friends.
